Maldives is a popular destination for surfers. Some island resorts on the atoll edge have good waves for surfing. From amongst the tourism atolls, most known surfs are in North and South Male' Atolls. The resorts on the eastern reef of the atoll are ideally placed for the avid surfer.

Tropical Cruise offer surfing cruises, giving the opportunity to test some of the less recognized surfs in the atolls further away from central zonesl. The surf season coincides with the south-west monsoon and runs from mid February to November when the best swells are generated by winter low pressure systems in the southern Indian Ocean. March and April provide a combination of excellent surfing and weather conditions.

The Maldives in recent years has attracted professional surfers. Maldives has hosted international surfing competitions which put the Maldives as a world surfing destination.
Tropical Cruise can take you to the best surf spots that Maldives has to offer. Please do fill booking request form to check the availability of the boat.

Surf monsoon is from late February to mid November, with the best waves coming in during March to May and then again in Sep till the end of November.

Reef breakers are sometimes quite tricky to surf, the water is quite shallow on the surf and the coral beds sharp and protruding.

Surfers are advised to bring all their equipment with them, as there are very few good surf equipment available.
